About Based Science Tech

Publication content

Promoting open-source (freedom) and diy for independent, amateur scientists and data sleuths, because:

a true understanding of methods lies at the code level; if you cannot write the code, you do not fully appreciate the method; when people run their own analyses they will understand the limitations and instability of the data and estimated model

We are inspired by the open-source movement and community-driven learning-and-sharing. We favour simplicity over excess and thus suckless’ list of stuff that rocks, e.g. Vim, Ranger, Zathura etc.

Preferred OS is EndeavourOS (Xfce), although we put MX on older machines. Use only split keyboards, Iris (Keeb.io) mostly. Camera is fujifilm xt-5.

We have another, less technical, blog at: based.science
